- John Joseph "Jack" Nicholson (Neptune City, 22 aprile 1937) è un attore, regista, sceneggiatore e produttore cinematografico statunitense: attualmente, è l'attore con il maggior numero di nomination nella storia degli Oscar. Infatti, finora, ne ha avute ben 12, vincendo due volte il Premio Oscar come miglior attore protagonista, uno per il film drammatico "Qualcuno volò sul nido del cuculo" (1975) e l'altro per la commedia romantica "Qualcosa è cambiato" (1997). Ha inoltre vinto il Premio Oscar come miglior attore non protagonista per la commedia drammatica "Voglia di tenerezza" (1983). Nella storia degli Academy Awards, Nicholson è uno dei tre attori ad aver vinto tre volte il Premio Oscar, inoltre è uno dei soli due attori ad essere stato nominato ai Premi Oscar per film prodotti in ogni decade dagli anni sessanta agli anni duemila: l'altro è Michael Caine. Nicholson, inoltre, ha vinto 6 Golden Globe.
